Another day, another name: the rumour mill continues to shape what could be the line-up for Melodifestivalen 2027, Sweden’s Eurovision 2027 selection. Press in the country have reported more names that could potentially be in the mix to participate in next year’s selection.
An artist with over 1.5 billion YouTube views
Little Sis Nora is the stage name of Nora Ekberg, a Swedish artist and songwriter born in Borås. She is the younger sister of Aron Ekberg, better known as Swedish producer AronChupa, with whom she has regularly collaborated. In 2014, Little Sis Nora provided the vocals for Aron’s track “I’m an Albatraoz”, which found viral success around the globe. The track has over 700 million streams on Spotify, and the music video for the song has been viewed more than 1.5 billion times on YouTube. Little Sis Nora has, in recent years, continued making music with the electro-house group Albatroz, as well as releasing solo music, including a collaboration with Hooja. She is currently the supporting act for Finnish Eurovision artist Käärijä’s EURODISKO tour.
A 40 year anniversary return to Mello
Another rumoured addition to the Melodifestivalen 2027 participation list is that of Melfest veteran Arja Saijonmaa. The 81 year old singer was born in Finland, and has competed in Sweden’s national selection for Eurovision on three occasions previously. Making her debut in 1987 with the song “Högt över havet”, Arja finished in second place. She returned to the show in 2005, with “Vad du än trodde så trodde du fel” and again in 2019 with “Mina fyra årstider”. Celebrating 40 years since her first entry into Sweden’s biggest music show, Arja is rumoured to be returning to the 2027 edition of Melfest.
Another Idol star in the mix
24 year old Finnish singer Ingrid Enckell now resides in Stokholm. Aged 20, Ingrid moved to London to pursue songwriting at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. She reached the semifinals of Idol in Sweden in 2025, finishing in fourth place and becoming a fan favourite of the music competition show. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift and Melissa Horn, Ingrid blends contemporary country influences with Nordic pop in her music. Several press sources say Ingrid will take part in the 2027 Melfest.
A Grammis ‘Newcomer of the Year’ nominee
26 year old Jackie Mere (real name Jaqueline Brantsberg) is a rising star in Swedish pop music. The singer from Gothenburg was nominated for Newcomer of the Year’ at the 2024 Swedish Grammis Awards, and has gone on to find growing success in the country. She began singing at a very early age, discovering her passion for music on the streets of Gothenburg before moving to the stage. Swedish media reports she will be taking part in Mello 2027.
A rising star of svensk R&B
Another name joining the list of potential Melodifestivalen 2027 participants is that of Melwin Wid. The 23 year old (real name Melwin Widiyaratne) is a Gothenburg based artist who blends R&B and pop, with Swedish language lyrics, in his music. In recent years, he has released a number of singles and built a growing fanbase through his music and live performances.
A fresh singer-songwriter to make her debut
20 year old singer-songwriter Mathilda Bohman studied at the songwriting program Musikmakarna in Örnsköldsvik. Mathilda has won P4 Nästa Stjärna in Örebro County and has received the Denniz Pop Scholarship and the Askersund Cultural Scholarship. The young musician cites Gracie Abrams, Jade LeMac and Myles Smith as big influences to her sound, as well as her love of K-pop.
A returning rock radio host
Another name heavily rumoured to be taking part in Mello 2027 is that of Nicke Borg. The 53 year old singer, and guitarist in the band Backyard Babies, is also the host of the radio station Rockklassiker. Nicke took part in Melfest back in 2011, finishing in eighth place in the final with his rock ballad “Leaving Home”. According to a source who has claimed to have heard the song, “this time, it’ll be a bit more high-energy”.
A returning Melfest veteran and Eurovision backing vocalist
The last name to add to the list of rumoured Mello 2027 participants as it stands is that of Linda Pritchard. The 43 year old Swedish singer has twice appeared in Melfest before, in 2010 with “You’re Making Me Hot-Hot-Hot” and again in 2011 with “Alive”. Linda has also appeared on the Eurovision stage previously, providing backing vocals for the UK’s entry in 2019, “Bigger Than Us”, performed by Michael Rice in Tel Aviv. As well as Michael Rice, Linda has provided backing vocals for both Céline Dion and Britney Spears during her career, as well as appearing on Swedish Idol back in 2008. Although it has been 16 years since her last appearance as a competing artist, she hasn’t completely stepped away from Melfest during that time. “She has often been the one to record the initial vocals for demo versions of songs that, for various reasons, ended up with other artists” an insider told Aftonbladet.

In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2026, Melodifestivalen was won by FELICIA, singing “My System”. FELICIA qualified for the Grand Final of Eurovision in Vienna, maintaining Sweden’s near perfect track record from the semi-finals. The country has only narrowly lost out on a place in the Grand Final once, in 2010.
