🇮🇪 AILSHA – “Batshit Crazy”
Before the close of voting in Ireland’s Eurosong national final in 2024, it was AILSHA’s “Go Tobann” vs Bambie Thug’s “Doomsday Blue” for the win. Both artists brought alt, Gaelic, demon-fairy-witch energy to the stage, and would eventually finish 1st and 2nd in the selection show, with AILSHA just missing out on the win. The latest single from the alt-metal singer from County Wicklow is “Batshit Crazy”. It is on the heavier side of alt-metal, delivering incredible guitar riffs and metal-drum licks, but also features a electro-synth intro that keeps it on the alt-girl style we are used to from AILSHA. If you like Bambie Thug’s 2024 entry and never had the joy of discovering AILSHA, or if you liked “Go Tobann” but haven’t followed what the singer has released since, give this a go!
🇸🇪 Melanie Wehbe – “Alive”
Melanie Wehbe may not be a name you know as a eurofan if you haven’t delved into the mad world of Melodifestivalen. The singer made her debut as a performer with “For The Show” in the national final in 2023. But it is as a songwriter that Wehbe is most prolific in Eurovision circles. Wehbe’s name appears in credits for so many Eurovision and Melodifestivalen songs over the years, including “Love Is Forever” by Denmark’s Leonora, “Hallucination” by Denmark’s Sissal, “Move” for The Mamas in Sweden, “My System” for Swedish singer FELICIA and even the UK’s 2019 song “Bigger Than Us”. It is no wonder then, that Stockholm Pride asked Melanie to write and record the official song for their 2026 Pride festival. “Alive” is a heartwarming pop song about the beauty of being alive and authentically you. Co-written by names such as Thomas G:Son, Joy Deb, Peter Boström and Wehbe herself, the track has huge Melodifestivalen and Eurovision songwriting alumni attached to it. Melanie took to her instagram to say ‘I hope this song becomes a light in the darkness and reminds us that we’re strongest when we dare to live openly, love freely and stand together. Happy Pride, this one’s for all of us’.
🇪🇸 Sofia Coll – “Sweat”
Benidorm Fest 2024 would not have been the same without the presence of Sofia Coll and her infectious track “Here To Stay”. The singer has gone on to find success in Spanish music scenes since her appearance at the national final, and has released 5 tracks so far in 2026. The latest of these, “SWEAT”, sees Sofia team up with ARESH, alberrrtoramos and Calama on a sexy, summer electro-pop banger. Full of Spanish flare and energy, it’s a great beach club track. The single comes ahead of Sofia’s upcoming album “IDK”, due to be released in September.
🇩🇪 Patty Gurdy – “Farewell – Unplugged Version”
In what I personally still count as the biggest Eurovision crime in recent memory, Patty Gurdy inexplicably came last in the German national final Unser Lied Für Liverpool in 2023 with her song “Melodies of Hope”. The Hurdy-gurdy musician and dark-fairy-folk singer with Irish heritage from Germany has made a huge impact on the weird and wonderful worlds of fairy-folk, pirate-pop and pop-metal. The latest new piece of music is an acoustic version of German folk-metal band d’Artagnan’s record “Farewell”. The original version of the track was released back in 2021 by both artists, and this new version is a fun re-imagination of that track. I’ll level with you, it’s not the greatest thing of all time. But if you like folky, fairy, pirate-rock, it might be up your street.
🇺🇦 SKYLERR – “Горлиці”
Young Ukrainian singer SKYLERR competed in the 2024 edition of the country’s national selection with the song “Time Is Running Out”. The singer attempted to withdraw from the competition after the vote had opened, citing technical crashes with the voting app and a messy PR race, but Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne did not allow an artist to withdraw once the vote had opened. The song would eventually finish in 7th in the selection, and SKYLERR has yet to make a reappearance at a Vidbir. Newest release from SKYLERR “Горлиці” is less chaotic than both her Vidbir song and surrounding controversy, but is a beautiful peace of choral electro-pop. It has a slight synth / disco sound with choir vocals across the track.
🇨🇿 LENNY – “CASANOVA”
LENNY competed in the 2024 edition of ESCZ, Czechia’s national final for Eurovision, with the song “Good Enough”. The edgy, alt rock singer placed 5th in the contest. The most recent single from LENNY, “CASANOVA”, is a return to the pop-rock sound of the early 00s, with edgy, emo energy. It’s a great track if you like the Paramore or The Pretty Reckless sound. This is a great track in that genre.
🇮🇸 ANITA – “Slepptu mér”
Anita competed in the 2024 edition of Söngvakeppnin, Iceland’s national final. She performed the song “Stingum af” (and its English version “Downfall”), reaching the grand final where she finished fifth in the first round and didn’t progress to the superfinal. “Slepptu mér” is the singer’s first release of 2026 and sees her collaborate with Icelandic rapper JóiPé. It has a electro-disco-funk feel to it, with contemporary rap and vocals on top.
🇱🇹 Nombeko Auguste – “KvadratinÄ— Galva”
Nombeko Auguste is perhaps best known as one of the co-hosts of the Lithuanian national final Eurovizija.LT in recent years, however before she was a host, she entered the contest herself. In 2020, she appeared in the national final Pabandom IÅ¡ Naujo with her song “Reikia man”, failing to make it through to the final round. The Lithuanian singer has had a successful TV and music career since 2020, and has release 3 tracks so far in 2026. The latest of these sees Nombeko team up with EDM singer and producer senjasa on “KvadratinÄ— Galva”. The duo give a great EDM inspired pop performance.
🇺🇦 TAYANNA – “Марічка”
TAYANNA has twice competed in Ukraine’s national selection, in 2017 and again in 2018, coming 2nd both times. She was also the Jury spokesperson for Ukraine at the Contest in 2021. The Ukrainian singer is back with new single “Марічка” which is a summery, almost Spanish inspired pop song. It’s a great vibe for the singer, showing off her vocals on top of an infectious pop beat.
🇪🇸 Siderland – “Tutu Turú”
Siderland competed in Benidorm Fest 2023, with their Catalan song “Que esclati tot”. The 3-piece boyband didn’t make it to the final of the contest in Spain, but the band did appear at Spanish pre-parties in 2023 and have amassed a decent following in Spain in recent years. For their latest single, the band team up with Spanish singer Paula Koops on “Tutu Turú”. It is a fun, funky pop sound with a dance beat. Give it a try.

🇬🇧 Danny L Harle – “Crystallise Divergence”
While not a Eurovision artist as such, Danny L Harle did have a huge part to play in Olly’s 2024 entry “Dizzy”. One of the founding members of London’s PC-Music label, Danny has a long career in electronic pop and dance music of many varieties, and has worked with some of the biggest names in modern music, producing for Charli XCX and Dua Lipa amongst others. Although “Dizzy” didn’t get the televote points that the UK was hoping for in the Contest in Malmö, Danny’s musicality and production were evident on the track. His latest EP, “Crystallise Divergence” sees the producer team up with US artist Doss, as well as featuring Oklou and MNEK. The 6 track EP blends together between songs, creating a start to finish listening experience. The style is much more reminiscent of Harle’s earlier, more hyperpop and electronic focussed sound than that of “Dizzy”. If you’re into electronic, hyperpop, PC Music and dance music that isn’t explicitly Eurovision linked, give it a go.
🇦🇿 EMIN – “About Love”
Emin Agalarov, stage name EMIN, performed as an interval act during the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. He gave a mesmerising performance of his track “Never Enough” during the interval. EMIN is a huge name across Europe, and has had a career spanning more than 2 decades so far. His latest track “About Love” sees the Azerbaijani singer collaborate with Jamaican recording artist Andru Daniels.
