πŸ‡«πŸ‡· Scenarios for Junior Eurovision 2021 outlined

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 will take place on the 19th December 2021. ESC Plus were told by the EBU that multiple scenarios are being considered so the contest can run smoothly. How the contest goes ahead is dependant on several factors regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. The EBU has outlined three scenarios in how Junior Eurovision 2021 could go ahead.

Sceanrio A – Normal Contest

Contest runs as normal, with the full capacity crowd, however this is unlikely judging by how France’s vaccination programme is going. By December 2021 it is expected 80% of the country will be fully vaccinated.

Scenario B – Contest with restrictions

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest will run similarly to Eurovision 2021 where delegations will travel to France. There will be strict social distancing in force during the contest. Like with Eurovision 2021, countries would be required to film a Live on tape performance in case anyone tested positive during the rehearsal week. There would be a audience but again like Eurovision 2021 a negative PCR would be needed in order to enter the venue.

Scenario C – Contest with travel restrictions

This is similar to Scenario B however this accounts for travel restrictions to France. This scenario is where some delegations will be required to stay at home however would still be able to take part . The performance would be recorded at home then played live to viewers on the night.
