🇸🇪 Three more artists rumoured for Melodifestivalen 2022

The rumour mill for Melodifestivalen 2022 is spinning at full speed. Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet has revealed three further artists that are said to be competing in the Swedish National Final for Eurovision. Rapper Niello and Swedish Idol contestant William Segerdahl are expected to make their Mello debut. Also rumoured to participate is Faith Kakembo, who took part in the 2020 edition with “Crying Rivers.”

William Segerdahl

William would be a new face at the contest. The 19 year old competed in the 2018 edition of Idol, finishing in third place. Since then he has released a number of songs, with his track “Problem” being the most successful, reaching 3rd in the Swedish Heatseekers Chart. It is rumoured that Segerdahl has submitted songs to Melodifestivalen before.

Niello

Niello is the stage name of rapper Niklas Grahn. According to reports, Niello has sent in songs to Melodifestivalen for a few years now, and will finally make his debut in 2022. Those familiar with Swedish music will know Niello from his 2013 hit “Legenden.” This track, featuring Phantomen, reached number 3 on the Swedish charts and was certified two times platinum.

Faith Kakembo

The third artist rumoured to participate in Melodifestivalen 2022 is a returning artist. Faith Kakembo participated in the 2020 edition of Melodifestivalen with the track “Crying Rivers.” She finished 5th in Semi-Final 3, missing out on a spot in the Andra Chansen round by just 5 points. “Crying Rivers” ended up charting 18th in the Swedish Heatseeker Chart. Before Melodifestivalen, Faith made it to the finals of talent competition P4 Nästa in 2019.
