Today rehearsals for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 kicked off. Countries rehearsing on Day 2 include Portugal, Croatia, Denmark, Austria, Greece, Iceland, Norway and Armenia. Next to rehearse today was Denmark’s REDDI .
REDDI’s first rehearsal
The next act to take to the Eurovision 2022 stage at the Pala Alpitour in Turin was Denmark’s REDDI . They will sing the song “The Show” at Eurovision 2022 after they were selected to represent Denmark earlier this year.
Following REDDI’s first rehearsal a clip of their rehearsal was posted on TikTok. The clip showed the them before and after they took to the Eurovision stage for the first time. The clip also gave us some insight into how well their first rehearsal went.

What did we learn about REDDI’s staging?

The staging for this is bright and colorful. The styling for the girls is described as “retro“, which is very fitting for a song like this. We do not see many female led rock songs in Eurovision nowadays which could certainly help this stand out amongst the crowd. They seem to have revamped the song slightly as their is an additional key change in the song now. There are some pyro effects in REDDI’s staging.

About REDDI
Reddi is a four piece, all-female Danish-Swedish rock band. They consist of Siggy (vocals), Ida (bass), Agnes (guitar), and Ihan (drums). Ihan has previous Eurovision experience, as she played the drums in Denmarkβs 2012 song βShouldβve Known Betterβ. Fans of Nordic national selections meanwhile might recognize Agnes from appearing alongside Samira Manners in Swedenβs Melodifestivalen this year. Reddi won Dansk Melodi Grand Prix with a second place in the final and first place in the Superfinal. βThe Showβ was written by Reddi and Danish producers Remee and Chief 1, both of which have written multiple Eurovision songs.
Denmark’s Eurovision Journey
Denmark first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1957 and notched their first win in 1963 with Grethe and Jorgan Ingmannβs βDanseviseβ. The country left the contest after 1966 but returned in 1978, and achieved mixed results in the next two decades. Denmark earned two third place finishes in 1988 and 1989, but were then relegated three times in 1994, 1996, and 1998.
They finally achieved their second victory in 2000 with the Olsen Brothersβ βFly on the Wings of Loveβ, and have only missed the grand final five times since the introduction of the semi-finals. A six-year qualification streak from 2008 culminated in its third win in 2013 with Emmelie de Forrestβs βOnly Teardropsβ.
Most recently, Fyr og Flamme represented Denmark at Eurovision 2021 with βOve os pa hinandenβ. They finished eleventh in their semi-final and just missed qualifying for the Grand Final.
