What did we learn about Sheldon Riley’s staging?

Sheldon took to the stage after a brief afternoon break between acts. He’s kept his signature mask from the national final and pre-party performances. He’s changed his outfit from black to white, and according to the live-blog, it contains a huge fur-trimmed train that fills a good chunk of the stage. As usual, he is here to impress with his vocals, receiving particular praise from the live blog for the big notes he is hitting today!

About Sheldon Riley

Sheldon Riley has been participating in music competition shows across the world since 2016, when he auditioned for The X Factor Australia. While he was eliminated as a solo artist at the bootcamp stage of the contest, he was brought back by judge Iggy Azalea to join a group formed of three previously-eliminated soloists. The group, “Time And Place”, was eliminated in the first week of the live shows.

It’s only been up for Sheldon since then. He was mentored by Boy George on The Voice Australia in 2018, and ultimately placed 3rd in the competition. He later went on to compete in The Voice All Stars, where he was mentored by Delta Goodrem and made it to the semi-final stage of the competition. Following this, he competed in America’s Got Talent in 2020, and made it to the quarter-finals. He has also released a number of singles, including “Fire”, “More Than I” and “Again.”

Australia’s Eurovision Journey

After being invited to compete in 2015 Guy Sebastian represented Australia with “Tonight Again”, which placed 5th Overall. Their best result came a year later in 2016 when Dami Im came second with her song ‘Sound Of Silence’. ‘Sound of Silence’ scored 511 points in the Grand Final and was the jury winner of the contest.

Australia’s recent participation saw Australia being represented by Montaigne (who was due to represent them in 2020), with the song “Technicolour”, which unfortunately placed 14th in the Semi-Final.
