Jérémie Makiese’s first rehearsal
The next act to take to the Eurovision 2022 stage at the Pala Alpitour in Turin was Belgium’s Jérémie Makiese. He will sing the song “Miss You” at Eurovision 2022 after he was selected to represent Belgium late last year.
Following Jérémie’s first rehearsal, a clip of his rehearsal was posted on TikTok. The clip showed him before and after he took to the Eurovision stage for the first time. The clip also gave us some insight into how well his rehearsal went.

The Belgian delegation has opted for relatively pared back staging to really let Jérémie’s lush, characterful voice shine. The silver jacket-clad singer is backed up by four male dancers, all in black, who lend an air of moody yet effortless cool to the proceedings.

About Jérémie Makiese
Jérémie Makiese has been involved in music from a young age, singing in a church choir alongside his mother in his childhood. However, he rose to fame on The Voice Belgique, winning season 9 in 2021.
Outside of music, Jérémie is a talented footballer, playing as a goalkeeper for some of Belgium’s major clubs. He has also undertaken a Geology degree, though has put this on pause right now to focus on his music and sports careers!
Belgium’s Eurovision Journey
As one of the countries to debut in 1956, Belgium was represented by Fud Leclerc with the song “Messieurs les noyés de la Seine” and Monny Marc with the song “Le plus beau jour de ma vie”. Since then, Belgium has participated 62 times, 52 of which where they qualified for the Grand Final, and have won the competition once (1986).
Belgium’s recent participation, saw them being represented by Hooverphonic with the song “The Wrong Place”, where they managed to qualify for the Grand Final once again. During their participation, Hooverphonic managed to place 19th in the competition, receiving 74 points from the Jury and Televoters.
