🇸🇮 Slovenia confirms participation in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest

As the days keep going, more and more countries reveal they will be present at Eurovision 2023. RTVSLO has announced that they will be participating in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in the UK. With the confirmation of their participation, Slovenia will be participating in the competition for the 28th time.

Slovenia’s selection method to be confirmed

During their announcement, RTVSLO did not confirm how it will be selecting its next Eurovision representative. The country has used both a National Selection and Internal Selection to select their representative. In 2022, Slovenia opted for a National Final (EMA) to select LPS to represent them in Turin.

Slovenia’s Eurovision Journey

In 1993, Slovenia made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest with 1X Band and the song “Tih deževen dan”, which placed 22nd. Since their debut, they have participated 26 times (15 of which, where they qualified for the Grand Final.)

Slovenia’s recent Eurovision participation, saw them being represented by LPS, who represented them with the song “Disko”, which placed 18th in the first semi-final receiving 15 points from the jury and televoters, finishing last in the semi-final.
