As we head on over to the end of the year, the award season starts to creep upon us. Next month, on the 13th of November, the 2022 MTV EMA Awards will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany, where Eurovision and National Final artists have been nominated this year’s show.
Amir is nominated for Best French Act
Starting off this round-up we have France’s Eurovision 2016 representative Amir, who competed in Stockholm with the song “J’ai Cherche’ which placed 6th. Amir is nominated for the ‘Best French Act’ award, which will be his third nomination for the category after being nominated in 2016 and 2017 (both of which he won).
Noa Kirel is nominated for Best Israeli Act
Next up on our round-up is the first act revealed for Eurovision 2023, and it is Israel’s Noa Kirel. This will be Noa’s fifth nomination for the ‘Best Israeli Act’ and has won the award for the past five years. Will she make it for the sixth time?
Blanco, Elodie and Måneskin are nominated for Best Italian Act
In Italy we have three artists who are nominated for the ‘Best Italian Act’ category. We are starting off with 1/2 of the Festival di Sanremo winner, and Italy’s Eurovision 2022 representative Blanco who competed in this year’s competition with the song “Brividi”. This is Blanco’s first nomination in the category.
Next up, we have fan favourite and two-time Festival di Sanremo participant Elodie. This will be Elodie’s second nomination in the category after being nominated in the same category in 2019.
Finally, we have Italy’s Eurovision 2021 representative and winner, Måneskin. In addition to their four nominations at the AMAs, they are once again nominated as Best Italian Act. In 2021, the gorup were nominated for the same category, as well as ‘Best Group’ and ‘Best Rock’, for which they won the latter. In addition to being nominated in the ‘Best Italian Act’, the group is once again nominated for ‘Best Rock’ in this year’s competition
Margaret nominated for Best Polish Act
Our next act in the round up is no stranger to the ‘Best Polish Act’ category and that is Margaret, who competed in Poland’s Krajowe Eliminacje in 2016, as well as Sweden’s Melodifestivalen in 2018 and 2019. The polish songstress has been nominated in the category seven times (2015,2016,2017,2018,2020,2021,2022) and have won on four occassions (2015,2016,2018,2020).
Marius Bear nominated for Best Swiss Act
Rounding up the line-up, is Switzerland’s Eurovision 2022 representative Marius Bear who is nominated for the Best Swiss Act award for the first time.
