With only a few days to go until the rumored date of when the Melodifestivalen 2023 artists are set to be revealed. The artists set to take pare continue to be reported by Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. The final names rumoured to take part in next year is fourt-time Melodifestivalen participant Mariette, as well as a sister duo who are the grandchildren of a well-known Swedish artist.
Mariette
The first artist rumoured in this round-up is four-time Melodifestivalen participant Mariette, who participated in 2015 (Don’t Stop Believeing), 2017 (A Million Years), 2018 (For You) and recently in 2020 with Shout It Out. According to Aftonbladet, Thomas G:son and Jimmy Jansson wrote Mariette’s entry for next year’s contest.
An unnamed female duo
In the same article, Aftonbladet also report that a femalue duo, competing witha Swedish folk pop song is also set to participate, and that the duo are sisters who are set to make their debut to the contest and that the duo are grandchildren of a well-known Swedish artist.

As we have previously mentioned, Aftonbladet has reported that SVT is set to reveal the 28 competing artists on a digital press conference on November 29 & 30.

Melodirestivalen 2023 will be hosted by Farah Abadi & Jesper Rönndahl, with the shows for next year’s comeptition taking place as follows:
- Heat 1 – February 4 – Gothenburg – Scandinavium
- Heat 2 – February 11 – Linköping – Saab Arena
- Heat 3 – February 18 – Lidköping – Sparbanken Arena
- Heat 4 – February 25 – Malmö – Malmö Arena
- Second Chance – March 4 – Örnsköldsvik – Hägglunds Arena
- Final – March 11 – Stockholm – Friends Arena

Sweden’s Eurovision Journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since its debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win six times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, and 2015).
In 2022, Sweden was represented by Cornelia Jakobs, who won the 61st edition of the competition and competed with the song “Hold Me Closer”, which managed to qualify for the Grand Final and placed 4th with 438 points from the jury and televoters.
