The names that are been rumoured to take part in Melodifestivalen 2023 continue to be reported by Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. Recently, it’s been reported that two-time Melodifestivalen participant Victor Crone, and two debutants Maria Sur and Isa-Lova are among those rumoured to take part.
First up in this round-up is Maria Sur. Maria is originally from Ukraine, and earlier this year she participated in the latest season of The Voice of Ukraine. However, her journey was cut short when the war broke out. She and her mum fled the country and ended up in Sweden, where two-time Melodifestivalen participant Sarah Dawn Finer took her under her wings and pitched her for a charity concert. Maria ended up landing a record deal with Warner Music Sweden, and ended up releasing her single “That’s The Way“.
The second artist in this round-up is Victor Crone. He represented Estonia in Tel Aviv in 2019 with “Storm” which placed 20th in the Final. In Melodifestivalen he participated twice. First in 2015 where he featured in Behrang Miri’s entry “Det Rår Vi Inte För” which made the Andra Chansen round, and in 2020 with “Troubled Waters” which placed 9th in the final. Recently, he was a songwriter in Stig Rasta’s entry for Eesti Laul 2022 with “Interstellar” and in Robin Bengtsson’s Melodifestivalen 2022 entry “Innocent Love”
Rounding up this round-up we have another artist that may potentially making their debut, and its is Ida-Lova who is the daughter of Christine Meltzer, who hosted Melodifestivalen 2010. Recently, Ida also released her debut EP “Hallå världen kan du stanna?”.
