As the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 edges closer, Tim had a chance to speak to Nicolas Alves from Portugal on his journey to the Contest. Together, they talk about Nicolas’ love for LEGO, how his rehearsal went and what to look out for when he takes to the stage on Sunday.

Alves will perform his song ‘Anos 70’ at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Yerevan, Armenia. Following the opening ceremony, Portugal will perform in position #13. He will follow the performance from Freya Skye from the United Kingdom and before Katarina Saviฤ from Serbia.
Nicolas’ Junior Eurovision journey
Nicolas currently lives in Torres Vedras. He was born to Brazilian parents in the U.K – where he lived until age 10. He gained popularity in Portugal after taking part in The Voice Kids Portugal, where he sang a cover of Mรฅneskin’s version of “Beggin”. Nicolas’ hobbies include playing the guitar and cooking. He cites Elvis Presley and Queen as musical influences.
