Latvia is continuing their preparations for Supernova 2023. As artists prep for national final to start on Saturday 4th February, Tim speaks to INSPO, who are vying to represent Latvia in Liverpool with their song “Sway”.

Together, INSPO and Tim talk about the meaning behind their song “Sway.”, its creative process, as well as talking about their Eurovision memories from Latvia, and the emotions leading up to their 2nd participation in the Latvian selection.
About INSPO
INSPO was started off in 2020 by Aivars Lietaunieks, who has been in the Latvian music industry since mid 2000’s. A year later Aivars was joined by Nadīna Stirniniece, where they ended up releasing their debut EP “Space Between”, and also participated in Supernova in 2022 with “A Happy Place” which placed 8th.
Latvia’s Eurovision Journey
Latvia made their Eurovision debut in 2000, finishing 3rd with “My Star” by Brainstorm. They have performed at every contest since and managed to win in 2002. Marie N sang “I Wanna,” scoring 176 points and bringing Eurovision to Riga in the process. Latvia also managed to finish in the top 10 two more times, in 2005 and 2015. Latvia’s most recent entry on the Eurovision stage was Citi Zeni, who performed “Eat Your Salad”. The song failed to qualify from the semi-final, finishing 14th with 55 points.
