During this year’s Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam last weekend, Tim had the opportunity to talk with Teya & Salena, who are representing Austria at Eurovision 2023 with their entry “Who The Hell Is Edgar?”

Who are Teya and Salena?
Teya has previous history in Eurovision having previously tried to represent her ancestral home of Serbia in the 2020 contest. Performing under the name Thea Devy, her song ‘Sudnji Dan’ managed to make the final of Beovizija 2020, and ultimately finished 10th overall. Sahlena is also no newcomer to musical competitions having previously been a contestant on the 2017 edition of The Voice of Germany. Their song “Who The Hell is Edgar” was written by Teodora Spirić, Selina-Maria Edbauer, Ronald Janeček and Pele Loriano
Austria’s Eurovision Journey!
In 1957, Austria made their debut into the Eurovision Song Contest, where Bob Martin represented the landlocked nation with the song “Wohin, kleines Pony?”. At the close of voting, it manages to place 10th overall. Since their debut, Austria has participated 54 times (being in the final 47 times), and have won the competition on two occasions (1966 and 2014 respectively).
In 2021, Austria was represented by duo LUM!X and Pia Maria with the song “Halo”, where they managed to placed 15th in the semi-final; receiving 42 points from the professional juries and televoters.
