As the days pass by since the conclusion of Eurovision 2023, we look into Junior Eurovision 2023, which will take place in ‘Nice’ in six months time. With an exciting time ahead, some countries have revealed they will be joining the party, with Ukraine being the next country to reveal this.
Selection method to be confirmed
UA:PBC confirmed the news of their participation. However, the broadcaster is yet to confirm how they will be selecting their representative. Ukraine usually selects its Junior Eurovision representative via a National Selection, where a jury and the public select their representative. Whether this will be the case, will be revealed in due course.
About Junior Eurovision 2023
Junior Eurovision 2023 landed in ‘Nice’ after France won the competition for a second time in Yerevan, where its 2022 representative Lissandro won the competition with “Oh Maman”. This year’s competition will take place on the 26th of November at 16:00CET in Nice, at the Palais Nikaïa in Nice, which can accomodate up to 9,000 spectators.

Ukraine’s Junior Eurovision Journey
In 2006, Ukraine made their debut to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, with Nazar Slyusarchuk and the song “Khlopchyk Rock ‘n’ Roll” (Хлопчик рок ‘н’ ролл), which placed 9th. Since their debut, the Eastern European nation has participated 16 times, and even won once in 2012 with Anastasiya Petryk and her song “Nebo” (Небо).
In 2022, Ukraine selected its representative through a national final, where Zlata Dziunka won the right to represent the nation with “Nezlamna”, which managed to place 9th receiving 111 points from the jury and online vote.
