MTV has announced the list of nominations for the 2023 MTV European Music Awards (EMAs), and Eurovision fans will recognize quite a few names that are included on the list.
Nominations across Europe
Many former Eurovision and National Final contestants can be found in the regional awards. For the main categories, Eurovision 2021 winner Mรฅneskin is nominated in four categories, Best Rock Act, Best Live, Best Group and Best Italian Act.
In terms of artists that have participated in Eurovision 2023, this year’s reigning champion Loreen (Sweden) is nominated for the ‘Best Nordic Act’ award. Fellow Eurovision 2023 participants Kรครคrijรค (Finland) and Alessandra (Norway) are also nominated in the same category, whilst Noa Kirel (Israel) is nominated once again for the Best Israeli Act award.
As for other notable nominations, last year’s 2022 Eurovision participants are also included in the list. S10 (Netherlands) is nominated for the Best Dutch Act award, whilst Sam Ryder (UK) is nominated for the Best Push Award. Switzerland’s Eurovision 2021 representative Gjon’s Tears is nominated for the Best Swiss Act.
The winners will be announced on November 5 in the Paris Nord Villepinte in Paris. You can vote for the MTV EMAs here, with voting closing on October 31 at 23:59CET. The 2023 MTV EMA will broadcast live on MTV in more than 150 countries and on Pluto TV globally on 5 November, and it will be available on demand on Paramount+.
