✍️ Edward af Sillén and Daniel Réhn appointed writers for Eurovision 2024

It has been announced by eurovision.tv that Edward af Sillén and Daniel Réhn will be the writer of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.

What Edward af Sillén had to say…

Edward and Daniel have previously worked on Eurovision before. In 2013 and 2016, both of Sweden’s most recent hostings this was the team that worked on the script. Edward commented to eurovision.tv the following about his appointment:

“To have the honour of writing and directing content when Europe’s eyes are once again directed towards us in Eurovision-loving Sweden is of course a dream”

Ebba Adielsson the Executive Producer of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 also commented on the writing team on board for Eurovision in Malmö

“We are of course incredibly happy that Edward has boarded the train again. He has a deep knowledge of Eurovision and a great sense of humour. He has shown that it is possible to make fun of the competition in a loving way and has created legendary Eurovision broadcasts. Together with Daniel Réhn and the rest of the team, I am convinced that he will deliver three fantastic shows for television viewers all over the world”

The Journey to Eurovision 2024

The Nordic country will host the 68th edition of the competition following Loreen’s historic win at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool. One month after the 2023 contest took place SVT revealed the Core Team that would be working on the competition, with this being completed in September. Tickets for Eurovision 2024 went on sale on November 28.

Four cities were in the running to host the 68th edition of the competition (Gothenburg, Malmö, Örnsköldsvik and Stockholm), with SVT settling for Malmö as the host city. The competition will take place on the 7th, 9th & 11th of May at Malmö Arena.
