Check out our interview with Tali here!

In her interview with Tim, Tali spoke about revamping Fighter to have a more intimate feel, her preparations for Malmö and how she has been since the Luxembourg Song Contest.

Who is Tali?

Tali is representing Luxembourg in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest with her song “Fighter” – after winning the Luxembourg Song Contest to be the Grand Duchy’s first Eurovision entry since 1993.

In her own words, she is “a cocktail of cultures” – She lives in New York grew up in Chile, Argentina & Luxembourg, and was born to an Israeli mother and Peruvian father.

She describes her usual style as pop indie, taking inspiration from the likes of Lizzy McAlpine & Maggie Rogers. She is also working on a debut album with the band Blue Stripes, which takes a more funk-jazz leaning akin to Stevie Wonder. She says her Luxembourg Song Contest entry ‘Fighter’ is “not normally what I gear towards, but is super fun.”

Luxembourg’s Eurovision Journey

Luxembourg first made its debut in the first edition of the Contest in 1956, with their first entries being “Ne crois pas” and “Les amants de minuit”, both performed by Michèle Arnaud. Since the first Contest, Luxembourg has competed a total of 37 times. Their best result was finishing in 1st place five times – in 1961, 1965, 1972, 1973 and 1983 respectively.

Luxembourg last took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993, when Modern Times represented the nation with the song “Donne-moi une chance”. At the close of voting, Luxembourg finished 20th in a field of 25 with 11 points. Following this participation, Luxembourg withdrew from the Contest, but is returning to the Contest in time for 2024.
