Fresh from taking 8th place for Armenia at Eurovision 2024, Ladaniva have released an extended version of their debut album, entitled “Ladaniva (Postcards)” – featuring cover versions of songs from around the world.
About “Ladaniva (Postcards)”
Ladaniva (Postcards) is an extended version of Ladaniva’s self titled debut album, and features six cover tracks in addition to the 11 songs on the original album.
The Cover songs on the album are:
- Here’s To You Ararat (Armenian – Originally by Arto Tunçboyacıyan/Armenian Navy Band)
- Tsaghkats Baleni (Armenian – Originally by Khachatur Avetisyan)
- Saraiman (Romanian – Originally by Romica Puceanu)
- Morenika (Spanish/Hebrew – Traditional Sephardic song from 15th century)
- Dicitencello Vuje (Neapolitan – Originally by Rodolfo Falvo and Enzo Fusco)
- Li Beyrouth (Lebanese Arabic – Originally by Fairuz and written by Joseph Harb – sampling Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo.)

Who are Ladaniva?
Ladaniva are a world music duo consisting of singer Jaklin Baghdasaryan, who was born in Armenia and grew up in Belarus, perfore moving to France in 2014, and French instrumentalist Louis Thomas.
The pair met by chance at a music bar in Lille in 2019, and quickly hit it off. Their musical style is inspired by the traditional songs from Armenia, Russia & the Balkan countries, as well as from Latin America, Africa and the French island of Réunion.
Ladaniva (a reference to the off-road SUV Lada Niva) started to gain traction in the COVID lockdowns of 2020, with videos such as “Vay Aman” and “Zepyuri Aman” being received particularly well by the Armenian communuty, Their 2020 video “Kef Chilini” has reached over 29 million views on YouTube.
Their participation for Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest, ultimately scored eighth in the grand final. Between the televote and the juries, “Jako” received 138 total points.
