About “Ho Ho Ho”
Released in November 2023, ‘Ho Ho Ho’ marked an end to Teya & Salena’s collaborations throughout 2023, which saw them represent Austria together at that year’s Eurovision, in order to focus on solo projects.
Typical of a Teya & Salena song, ‘Ho Ho Ho’ is poppy, catchy, and positively crude for good measure. The song follows the often uncelebrated side of the Claus power couple, Mrs. Claus, the great planning she puts into delivering gifts ever year, and also some slightly less PG13 things.
The track was written by Teya alongside Elsie Bay (Melodi Grand Prix 2022,2023) and Eurovision winning songwriters Pele Loriano and Tom Oehler (The Code, Who The Hell is Edgar?).
What do we think?
Teya & Salena, they could never make me hate you. In contrast to the more meaningful lyrics found on Who The Hell is Edgar?, this is straight unadulterated mindless fun, and I’m here for every second of it. For what is Christmas if not a time of happiness and joy? The lyrics aren’t exactly going to win any songwriting awards, but they don’t need to when I’ll be singing Β “Ho, ho, ho, merry Christmas from the Pole” in my head up until the new year.
Teya & Salena’s Eurovision Journey
Teya and Salena represented Austria at Eurovision in 2023 in Liverpool with their song βWho the hell is Edgarβ. They qualified for the Grand Final, where they placed 15th. At the close of voting, they received 104 points from the Jury and 16 points from the televote.
