In order to ease congestion during the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, and the women’s Euro 2025 contest, the Swiss Federal Railways is planning on adding 1,600 new trains across the country.

Increased trains to accommodate tourists

The reason for the drastic increase in number of trains planned on the Swiss rail network is to accommodate the 900,000 extra tourists expected across the country during these feature events. Eurovision itself is expected to be responsible for 250,000 of those visitors. In addition to the train services themselves, the Swiss Federal Railways also plans to add an additional 2,000 members of staff to assist on the railways.

Exact plans for the extra services have not been announced specifically, nor has it been stated if any of the services will be cross border to accommodate Eurofans staying in France and Germany over the events.
