🎤 Sandra Studer, Hazel Brugger, Michelle Hunziker to host Eurovision 2025

Today, Host Broadcaster SRG SSR in a media event has revealed that Sandra Studer, Hazel Brugger, Michelle Hunziker will serve as hosts for Eurovision 2025, which will take place in Basel, Switzerland.

About the Hosts

Hazel Brugger – A US-born Germano-Swiss television personality is primarily known for her comedic career; having won both the German and Swiss comedy awards.

Michelle Hunziker – the Swiss broadcaster is well established in both Swiss and Italian media; with her television exploits even landing her an appearance on Sanremo – Italy’s long standing Eurovision selection.

Sandra Studer – to the Eurovision world she needs no real introduction. While competing under the name Sandra Simó, the singer got a 5th place finish at the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest, with Canzone per te.

Other information revealed

During the broadcast it was also revealed that Mélanie Freymond and Sven Epiney will be the hosts for Arena Plus; the venue next door that will host a viewing concert for the 2025 contest. The latter is already well versed into the world of Eurovision having been the German language commentator for Switzerland for a number of years. Mélanie is also well established in the Swiss television landscape, having hosted many Romandie children’s shows. The arena will also feature a number of guest interval acts, with Croatia’s most recent entrant Baby Lasagna, Swtizerland’s 2011 entrant Anna Rossinelli, and DJ Antoine among the confirmed acts.

The story of Eurovision 2025 so far…

Switzerland will be hosting the 69th edition of the competition following Nemo’s historic win at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö. A few weeks after their win, Reto Peritz, and Moritz Stadler, was announced as the Executive Producers, with the other roles revealed in July 2024.

BaselBern & Biel/BienneGeneva, and Zurich submitted bids to host next year’s competition, with Basel and Geneva being shortlisted as the final two cities. After the shortlist, it was revealed that Basel will host Eurovision 2025, at St. Jakobshalle with the shows taking place on May 13, 15 and 17.

The visual identity for this year’s contest is “Unity Shapes Love”, which was developed by Art Director Artur Deyneuve, and was inspired by the Swiss tradition of direct democracy, with the message conveyed visually through the iconic Eurovision heart symbol.
