The number of accounts registered to get tickets for Eurovision 2025 has surpassed 500,000; though speculation has arisen about how many are fake.
Tickets to go on sale on January 29th
It’s been reported that half a million accounts have registered for the ticket sales for Eurovision 2025. It’s expected that there will be between 50,000 and 60,000 tickets available across all 9 viewable shows. While it is established that interest in Eurovision tickets will always greatly exceed the number available, the stark number of accounts registered has drawn suggestion that significant volumes of ticket touts are gearing up to buy large volumes of tickets. The system of pre-registering accounts for 2025 tickets was set up to deter unscrupulous ticket sales.
The ticket sales will begin on the 29th of January.
The story of Eurovision 2025 so far…
Switzerland will be hosting the 69th edition of the competition following Nemo’s historic win at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö. A few weeks after their win, Reto Peritz, and Moritz Stadler, was announced as the Executive Producers, with the other roles revealed in July 2024.
Basel, Bern & Biel/Bienne, Geneva, and Zurich submitted bids to host next year’s competition, with Basel and Geneva being shortlisted as the final two cities. After the shortlist, it was revealed that Basel will host Eurovision 2025, at St. Jakobshalle with the shows taking place on May 13, 15 and 17.
The visual identity for this year’s contest is “Unity Shapes Love”, which was developed by Art Director Artur Deyneuve, and was inspired by the Swiss tradition of direct democracy, with the message conveyed visually through the iconic Eurovision heart symbol.
