After failing to be chosen from the Vidbir wildcard round, GRISANA’s name has appeared on the list of names who have auditioned for Una Voce Per San Marino.
Another Ukrainian in San Marino
GRISANA has followed compatriot TESLENKO, who withdrew from the same wildcard vote, into the San Marino auditions process after finishing in 7th place in the Vidbir wildcard vote with her song “Kohoney”. The wildcard round was won by FIÏNKA.
GRISANA’s audition for the Sammarinese selection took place online at 17:50 on Wednesday, 22nd January.
The (Una Voce Per) San Marino Song Contest
The San Marino Song Contest will take place on March 8th, and will be broadcast on RAI Radio and RAIPlay as well as on SMRTV. Una Voce Per San Marino, the auditions phase, has been running steadily since September.
For several years now, microstate San Marino has financed its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest through its behemoth, multinational preselection. Application fees go towards Eurovision participation, and no one competing must be Sammarinese. Indeed, San Marino’s past two representatives were Spanish and Italian!
Other notable auditionees for Una Voce this year include Albania’s Eurovision 2024 representative BESA, former MGP participant Atle Pettersen and Moldova’s valleria, who was disqualified from the soon to be cancelled Etapa Naţională after turning up to her audition late.
San Marino’s Eurovision Journey
As one of the smallest countries in Europe, San Marino made its debut in the competition in 2008 with Miodio and the song “Complice”. Since then they have participated in the competition 14 times, qualifying for the grand final in three. Their best result was in 2019, with Serhat and “Say Na Na Na”.
Spanish band Megara represented San Marino in 2024 with the song “11:11”. They failed to qualify from the second semifinal, placing fourteenth and receiving sixteen points from the televote.
