What did some of our team members have to say about their favourite songs from Ethnikós Telikós 2025?
Daniel (Asteromata): Klavdia’s Asteromata is everything I wanted from a Greek selection and then some. It’s Dramatic. It’s Emotional, It’s a Balkan Ballad. It has Greekness overload. You just have to see my reaction video to this to see just how much I adore this entry. Klavdia and her ginormous glasses are the perfect successor to the legacy of Marina Satti.
Angus (Vale): Vale is a summery track that immediately invites you to dance, party, and chant along. Its energy is undeniable, and the different styles of beats used throughout the song evoke a range of different periods and styles of modern music. The little Pentozali-esque moment in the bridge injects both a Greek identity and even more energy into the song. Just a really compelling musical package
Kittens (Gi Mou): If you’re gonna do Greek then why not do Greek but with an absolutely blasting beat. I wasn’t expecting it to kick in, but when it did I was so pleasantly surprised. It takes it from being a run of the mill song to giving it that extra lift, while still retaining all of the Greek elements. The element of surprise works well, and it sustains my interest throughout the song with some chill vocal elements
Lewis (Odyssey): Usually I hate it when a Eurovision track has a very busy production but for Odyssey it really works! I love the dance elements on this song and whilst having dance breaks feels quite overdone in Eurovision, it just makes sense to include them in a track like this. Their rapping on the verses sounds very current. This just sounds like a real girl power anthem, and the switch from english to greek for the final verse completes this for me
Rory (Play It): Look, Marina Satti is hardly ever going to be topped, but if we’re looking for a fantastic person to follow in her footsteps, it’s Xannova. This has a real Greek feel to it, all while still being incredibly modern and danceable, which would immediately set it apart from the rest of the competitors at Eurovision. It also maintains that fresh sound that Greece wants to have but doesn’t compromise on their authenticity – plus it’s a girlbop – who doesn’t love that

Greece’s most recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Marina Satti with the song “Zari”.
