Shkodra Elektronike have said they will make no changes to “Zjerm” ahead of their Eurovision performance. It comes as the duo prepares for their participation in Basel in May.
“Zjerm” performance to be exactly the same
Speaking on RTSH afternoon show “Miqtë e Pasdites”, the duo spoke about the emotions they felt during the course of their win at Festivali i Këngës in December. Lead singer Beatrice looked back at their time in the festival and thanked those who voted for them.
The emotion is great. We come from alternative music and I never thought I would ever participate in Eurovision.
Eurovision is the biggest stage in Europe, I feel small in front of that stage. I didn’t expect this success. It wasn’t even on my list of things to achieve.
The pair went on to describe that there will be little to no changes in the way they perform the song for the public in Basel. Beatrice added:
We are now continuing our work. I feel respect and honor for the people who love us on that stage.
We are working hard for all those who gave us this opportunity. The style will be the same as at the festival. What you saw at Fest 63, you will see at Eurovision. The choreography will also be the same.
The band are now preparing for other elements of their participation. This now includes the filming of a music video for “Zjerm”, which will be filmed in Albania during February.
Albania’s Eurovision journey
In 2004, Albania made their debut into the Eurovision Song Contest with Anjeza Shahini with “Image of You”, which placed 7th in the final. Since their debut, Albania has participated 20 times, and made the final 10 times. They achieved their best result in 2012, where Rona Nishliu placed 5th with “Suus”.
Besa represented Albania in 2024 with the song “Titan”. “Titan” performed in the second semi-final, where it ultimately placed fifteenth out of sixteen, receiving 14 points from the televote.
