Prior to their participation in next week’s Polskie Kwalifikacje, Daniel sat down with CHRUST who are competing to represent Poland with their song “Tempo”.
Check out our interview with CHRUST here!
Daniel spoke with Gosia and Karol from the band, and discussed how their band formed, the rise of folk music in modern Eurovision and their hopes ahead of next week’s selection.
About CHRUST
Comprised of Gosia Oleszczuk, Karol Konop, and Dariusz Mrozek, CHRUST are a three piece folk band from Gdańsk in Northern Poland who have been making music together since the COVID pandemic in 2021, with their debut self titled album releasing the following year. During live performances, they wear signature wreaths created by Gosia herself for every performance.
Poland’s Eurovision Journey
In 1994, Poland made their debut at the Eurovision Song Contest represented by Edyta Górniak with the song “To nie ja!” and placed 2nd, Poland’s best result at the contest to date. Since then, Poland has participated 26 times, qualifying for the Grand Final 16 times.
Poland selected Luna and “The Tower” to represent them at Eurovision 2024. She received 35 points in the televote, placing twelfth in the first semifinal.
