What is the San Marino Song Contest?
Initially marketed as Una Voce Per San Marino, San Marino Song Contest is the first edition of its rebranded national final. The auditions process took place over several months to come up with a list of 221 semi-finalists, who would participate across seven semi-finals. Despite the fact that the semi-finals have not finished airing. SMRTV confirmed the 20 artists who will perform in the final. This includes Albania’s 2024 Eurovision representative BESA, Gabry Ponte, who performed in Sanremo earlier this month and Teslenko, who was a wildcard act in Vidbir 2024 and 2025.
San Marino’s Eurovision History
As one of the smallest countries in Europe, San Marino made its debut in the competition in 2008 with Miodio and the song “Complice”. Since then they have participated in the competition 14 times, qualifying for the grand final in three. Their best result was in 2019, with Serhat and “Say Na Na Na”.
Spanish band Megara represented San Marino in 2024 with the song “11:11”. They failed to qualify from the second semifinal, placing fourteenth and receiving sixteen points from the televote.
