Albania’s Shkodra Elektronike have released the music video for ‘Zjerm’; the song that will represent Albania at Eurovision 2025 in Basel.
€150k allocated
As well as revealing their music video for ‘Zjerm’, Albania’s RTSH has also announced that they will be allocation an equivalent of approximately €150k for the purpose of competing in Basel.
‘Zjerm’ Music Video
The music video sees the pair appear in front of a series of canvas backdrops before bursting into flames, and Beatriçe dancing in a sand filled room with interspaced shots of fire. Kolë then sits on a stool reading a newspaper that is bursting into flames.
Who are Shkodra Elektronike?
Kolë Laca and Beatriçe Gjergji formed the folktronica duo Shkodra Elektronike, named after their home city of Shkodër in Albania’s North West. They would begin to gain traction in their native Albania in 2020 with the release of their first singles. Before participating in, and winning Albania’s Festival i Këngës with their song “”Zjerm”” they had also as songwriters in the festival’s 60th edition for Rezarta Smaja’s “”E jemja nuse””.
Shkodra Elektronike will be participating in Eurovision 2025 with their entry “”Zjerm””, which was written by the duo themselves alongside Lekë Gjeloshi.
Albania’s Eurovision Journey
In 2004, Albania made their debut into the Eurovision Song Contest with Anjeza Shahini with “Image of You”, which placed 7th in the final. Since their debut, Albania has participated 20 times, and made the final 10 times. They achieved their best result in 2012, where Rona Nishliu placed 5th with “Suus”.
Besa represented Albania in 2024 with the song “Titan”. “Titan” performed in the second semi-final, where it ultimately placed fifteenth out of sixteen, receiving 14 points from the televote.
