Eurovision in Basel is just less than a month away. In the lead-up to the start of rehearsals, we will get to know a bit more about this yearโs artists, their discography, and their Eurovision 2025 journey so far. The next artist in this year’s preview is Israel’s Yuval Raphael.
Yuval Rapahel’s Eurovision Journey So Far
Israel once again opted to use ‘HaKokhav HaBa’ to select its representative for Basel. After numerous weeks of shows taking place, Yuval Raphael won the selection. In Eurovision 2025, Israel will be performing fourteenth in the second semi-final on May 15.

Who is Yuval Raphael?
Yuval’ music career started in 2024 when she participated in ‘HaKokhav HaBa’. Since childhood, Yuval dreamed of becoming a singer and was particularly interested in ‘Soul and R&B. As she performs in Basel, it will not be her first time in Switzerland, as she lived in Geneva for three years when she was a kid where she played tennis and went skiing a lot.
Israel’s Eurovision Journey
Israel has a long and wealthy history in the Eurovision Song Contest, making their debut in 1973 with Ilanit and โEy Shamโ. Their first entry scored 97 points, placing 4th. Israel has since gone on to win the Contest on four separate occasions โ in 1978, 1979, 1998 and 2018.
Eden Golan represented Israel in Liverpool during the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song “Hurricane”. Performing at the second semi-final, Israel qualified for the final in 1st place. In the final itself, Eden finished in 5th place with a total of 375 points – 52 points from the jury and 323 from the televote.
