Eurovision in Basel is just less than a month away. In the lead-up to the start of rehearsals, we will get to know a bit more about this year’s artists, their discography, and their Eurovision 2025 journey so far. Up next, we will preview the United Kingdom’s Remember Monday.
Remember Monday’s Eurovision Journey So Far
In line with previous years, the BBC selected the UK’s Eurovision entry internally, with Remember Monday being announced as the representative after speculation in local media. As a member of the Big Five, the United Kingdom automatically qualifies for the final. However, Remember Monday will be performing their entry between Austria and Greece on Semi-Final Two on May 15.
Remember Monday’s song for Eurovision – “What the Hell Just Happened?” was written by Remember Monday themselves, as well as Julie Aagaard, Kes Kamara, Sam Brennan, Thomas Stengaard and Tom Hollings.

Who are Remember Monday?
Remember Monday is a musical trio made up of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele. The group first met at school in Farnborough in Hampshire, bonding over their love of music. Each of the members of the group had extensive music experience, including musical runs and performing for Queen Elizabeth II. In 2019, the group auditioned for The Voice UK, coming under Jennifer Hudson’s team – where they eventually were knocked out of the competition. Their first EP was released in October of 2024.
United Kingdom’s Eurovision Journey
The UK is one of the most successful countries in the Eurovision Song Contest. Debuting at the second edition of the Contest in 1957, the United Kingdom won the competition on five occasions. The most recent win for the UK was in 1997 with Katrina and the Waves, singing “Love Shine A Light”. The UK also holds the record for second-place finishes – currently at 16.
In 2024, Olly Alexander represented the UK in Malmö with his song “Dizzy”. At the close of voting, the UK finished 18th in a field of 25, earning 46 points. All these points came from the jury.
