In the new interview, Tim and Jonas chat about his unique experience at London Eurovision Party, how it feels to ‘headline’ the semi final, and what he wants to get out of his Eurovision experience.

Who is Jonas Lovv?

Jonas Lovv Hellesøy is a 31-year-old singer-songwriter born in the Norwegian city of Bergen. He first shot to fame when he appeared on the Norwegian version of Idol, but was eliminated at the audition stage. After that, he developed his voice, fronting several bands before going solo and releasing his own music since 2020. In 2025, he gained recognition again after starring in Norway’s version of The Voice, reaching the semi-final stage.

Jonas will represent Norway at Eurovision 2026 with “Ya Ya Ya” after winning Melodi Grand Prix. The song was written by Jonas himself, as well as Sondre Skaftun.

Norway’s Eurovision journey

The Scandinavian nation made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960, with Nora Brockstedt and the song “Voi Voi”, which placed 4th. Since their debut, they have participated 62 times, and made the Grand Final 59 of these. In addition, Norway has won the competition three times – in 1985, 1995, and 2009.

Norway’s latest Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Kyle Alessandro with the song “Lighter”. After qualifying for the final, Norway placed 18th in the Grand Final, receiving 89 points, 22 of which from the jury and 67 from televoters.
