Today the rehearsals for Eurovision 2026 continue in Vienna. Countries rehearsing on Day 2 include Montenegro, Estonia, Israel, Belgium, Lithuania, San Marino, Poland, and Serbia. The fifth to rehearse today is Lithuania’s Lion Ceccah.
What did we learn about Lion Ceccah’s staging?
Lion Ceccah’s performance starts much like how it did at Eurovizija.LT, with some core elements of the show being translated to his Vienna staging. The magnetised cloak is back, as is the silver make-up that has now become synonymous with Lion Ceccah this year.
The performance is choreographed to entertain people at home more than in the arena itself, although he does somewhat acknowledge fans in the arena during this performance. A “dramatic” performance, the show also brings in English language subtitles during the second verse so viewers can understand what he is speaking about.
However, one major theme of this performance is theatrics, with sprinklings of humour and comedy thrown in for good measure. Lion briefly also switches into black and white for a section of the song, before he then endures yet another costume reveal, which has not been elaborated further on.
Who is Lion Ceccah?
Alen Chicco is the stage name of Tomas Alenčikas, a 34-year-old singer-songwriter born in Vilnius. Visual art has always been a key part of Tomas’ music, as he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in musical theatre, before earning a master’s degree at Lithuania’s most prestigious music academy. He has also become a prominent figure in Lithuania’s drag scene as a result of his appearance. He has released songs since 2018, finished second in Lithuania’s national selection in 2025 before returning in 2026 to with the competition.
Lithuania’s Eurovision Journey
The Baltic nation made its debut at the Eurovision Song contest in 1994, where Ovidijus Vyšniauskas represented them with the song “Lopšinė mylimai”, which placed 25th. Since then, Lithuania has participated 22 times and made the Grand Final 15 times. LT United gave Lithuania their best ever Eurovision result back in 2006, where the country placed 6th.
In 2025, Katarsis represented Lithuania, participating with the song “Tavo akys”. Performing in the second semi-final, Katarsis qualified for the final in sixth place. In the Grand Final, Lithuania finished in 16th place overall, with 96 points – 34 points came from the juries, with another 62 points from the televote.
