Previous national final artists
🇷🇸 Hurricane – “Skote”
Hurricane represented Serbia at Eurovision 2021, in Rotterdam, with the song “Loco loco”. They were also selected to represent the nation in 2020 with the song “Hasta la Vista”, before covid cancelled the contest. Since then, the band has had a complete lineup change, with none of the original members remaining in the group. Current members of the band Jovana Radić and Sara Kourouma competed in Serbia’s PZE national final in 2023 with the track “Zumi zimi zami”, placing 12th. The latest single from this iteration of the band comes in the form of “Skote”. The track is a Balkan dance-pop number, with a great beat. It’s actually more reminiscent of original Hurricane than some of the girls’ newer tracks. The accompanying music video is fun, summer vibes and it compliments the song well.
🇮🇪 Erica-Cody – “Ruin My Life”
It is my long-held opinion that if Erica-Cody had entered Ireland’s Eurosong in almost any other year than the 2024 edition, then we would have seen “Love Me Like I Do” on the Eurovision stage. Ultimately, she placed 4th in the national selection. Her recent releases have taken Erica in a slightly different direction to that of her 2024 Eurosong track. She calls the era her ‘Rally Girl era’, and is keen on blending UK Garage, Old Skool Hip-hop and modern R&B. Latest single “Ruin My Life” is no different. The track is an up-tempo, soulful R&B record with clear Garage influence. Written by herself, Erica-Cody is a talent that is going nowhere!
🇱🇹 Monika Marija – “VISKAM SAVAS LAIKAS”
Multi-Lithuanian national finalist Monika Marija has carved her own style of piano ballad / country-pop music. The singer-songwriter most recently entered Eurovizija.LT in 2024 with her song”Unlove You Starting Tomorrow”, placing 9th. Monica’s best result in the Lithuanian national final was back in 2019, with the track “Light On” which came 2nd. Latest release from the singer is 14 track album “VISKAM SAVAS LAIKAS”. The album features country-pop ballads in both English and Lithuanian, and shows Monika’s undeniable vocal talents. Tracks like “Ain’t Brand New” and “Pretty Big Deal” would feel at home on any UK or US county charts, while songs like “Jei Dar Nesuradi” and “Tėčio Dukra” are incredible examples of Lithuania country music.
🇪🇪 Wiiralt – “Kaif”
Estonia’s Wiiralt describe themselves as sounding like ‘Led Zeppelin’ playing ‘Johnny Cash’. The 3 time Eesti Laul entrants, most recently in the 2023 edition of the competition, are a country rock’n’roll band with a small following in Estonia, but a big sound. The newest release from the band, “Kaif”, is once again a collaboration with Balkan rapper Tommyboy, following last month’s release of the track “Emotsoon”. Like “Emotsoon”, this is hard to describe. The sound and musicality changes from heavy, rockier rap, to Hip-Hop reminiscent of the Jay-Z / Linking Park collaboration, before breaking down into a big metal chorus. This is a lil crazy, in a big way.
🇺🇦 ROXOLANA – “Червона і сумна”
Vidbir 2022 is perhaps most famous for being the edition won by Alina Pash, before runners up and eventual Eurovision champions Kalush Orchestra replaced her as the ESC entrant. But ROXOLANA was also a fan favourite in the 2022 national selection. The Ukrainian singer placed 4th in the show with her song “Girlzzzz”, before going on to have a string of hits in Ukraine. The singer’s latest release, “Червона і сумна”, is as fun and uptempo as her previous Vidbir entry, combining electro-pop and rap, but this time with more of a disco flair.
🇸🇪 Molly Hammar – “Bitterljuva unga dar”
Molly Hammer is a two-time Melodifestivalen participant, with “I’ll Be Fine” in 2015 and “Hunger” in 2016. Before this, Molly was a Swedish Idol contestant for the 2011 series of the TV4 show, placing 4th. It was here that she met and began dating Swedish ESC 2013 participant Robin Stjernberg, before the pair went their separate ways. However, her best Eurovision placing came as a songwriter, coming 12th for Malta with “Walk On Water”, performed by Ira Losco at the Contest in Stockholm. Molly herself appeared as a backing singer for the Maltese singer, making her a Eurovision performer in her own right, even without a Melfest win! Molly’s most recent music comes in the form of Swedish country-pop track “”Bitterljuva unga dar”. Joined by two other recent releases, “Bitterljuva unga dar” is a beautiful country love song, sung in Swedish.
🇵🇱🇸🇪 Margaret – “VOICE”
Margaret made her debut in the Eurovision universe in the Polish national final Krajowe Eliminacje 2016 with her song “Cool Me Down”. Before the selection, Margaret was both the bookies and fan favourite to win the Contest, but placed 2nd behind eventual ESC participant Michał Szpak. Margaret found fame as a musician across many countries in Europe in the late 2010s, with “Cool Me Down”gaining particular recognition in Sweden. Following the success of her music in Sweden, Margaret entered Melodifestivalen in 2018 with her song “In My Cabana”, placing 7th in the final. In 2019 she returned to the Swedish national final with “Tempo”, this time failing to make it out of the heats.
Since her Melodifestivalen stint, Margaret has served as a coach on The Voice Poland for two seasons of the show, in 2019 and again in 2025. The most recent release from the Polish superstar comes in the form of EP “VOICE”. The 5 song EP is a return to darker, indie-electro pop for the singer, while English track “Headspace” is a bright, chart friendly europop song. It is an exiting, contemporary body of music from the artist, and further solidifies her as an immense Polish talent.
🇺🇦 Drevo – “Під звуки гонга”
Young musician Drevo found eurofan recognition in the 2024 edition of Ukraine’s Vidbir national final. The Ukrainian singer placed 9th with his song “Endless Chain”, gaining fans across Europe with his instantly recognisable, unique, husky voice. The singer had previously entered the selection in 2023, but didn’t make final round. Drevo’s latest single, “Під звуки гонга”, again showcases his recognisable tone, but with a darker sound than previous work. The song has an indie-folk-rock sound to it, while Drevo’s vocal flourishes shine in both Ukrainian and English language segments. This young star has a long career in music ahead of him if this is anything to go by.
🇪🇪 Fredi – “Help Me, Please”
Fred appeared in both Eesti Laul 2020, and 2023 with musical companion Anett. The pair made the Grand Final of the national selection show in 2023 with “You Need To Move On”, but failed to make it through to the superfinal round of voting. The latest release from producer / musician Fredi comes in the form of video-game / movie soundtrack-esque instrumental atmospheric song “Help Me, Please”. The track is a collaboration with music producer and sound artist Giulio Cercato. The music is layered over birdsong, and the sound of children screaming and playing, making for an intriguing and somewhat unsettling finished project.
🇵🇹 Pongo – “Banana (Afro House Remix)”
Angolan-Portugese musician Pongo teamed up with Portuguese rapper Tristany in 2022 to enter the Portuguese national final Festival da Canção, reaching the final with their dynamic, African dance track “Dégrá.dê”. Pongo herself claims the “Queen of Kuduro” description, and latest music lives up to that title. The Angolan-Portugese singer delivers a fast-paced dance track on “Banana”, with MikeBenjMusic giving the song a further “Afro House Remix” on today’s release. This is exciting.
🇨🇭 Carrousel – “Orchestra”
Having entered the Swiss national final for Eurovision in 2013 with the song “J’avais rendez-vous”, French-Swiss band Carrousel finished second. They have since found huge success in French and German speaking Europe with their eclectic mix of big band, orchestra, electronic, jazz, disco and piano music. The band have been releasing alternative “Orchestra” versions of some of their biggest songs in recent months, and today’s release sees them put out a 5 track EP in this vein.

🇺🇦 Artem Kotenko – “А мені ок”
Artem Kotenko finished 3rd in 2024’s edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, with his song “Hear Me Now (Дім)”. The young Ukrainian singer has been release more and more music in the following years, with “А мені ок” being his fourth new single of 2026 so far. The track is a big dance-pop/rap record, and Artem is a musical talent to keep your eyes on for future potential adult Vidbir appearances.

🇬🇧 La Voix – “Tomorrow”
Drag queen La Voix has became somewhat a staple of British entertainment television. She appeared in the 6th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, placing second, and recently had a stint on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. Although not a performer at Eurovision herself per se, La Voix was selected as the UK Jury’s Spokesqueen for the 2026 Contest in Vienna. Since awarding the jury points from Salford in May, La Voix has been a busy queen, most recently staring as Miss Hannigan in the touring production of musical Annie in the UK. Latest release from the drag queen superstar sees her take on a track from the soundtrack of the musical, “Tomorrow”.
🇸🇪 BEA – “Alessandro Could Be Here In An Hour”
This week’s vaguest ESC connection comes in the form of musician BEA. The young Swedish singer has found viral success in recent years online, but has a long history with music. As a child, she found success in musical theatre and singing competitions. The singer is, in fact, the daughter of Sweden’s Eurovision 2009 artist Malena Ernman, making this the second “La Voix” reference of this week’s round-up. BEA is also the younger sister of environment and human rights campaigner Greta Thunberg.
The singer is never one to shy away from controversy, infamy and viral topics, and this record is no different. BEA sings in her recognisable raw vocal tone about, amongst other things, The Trump Files and Jeffrey Epstein on this track. She has yet to make an appearance at Sweden’s Melodifestivalen, but regularly features in fan wish lists. With a Eurovision superstar as a mother, it seems only fitting that BEA gets her time to shine on the Mello stage in future. The track ends with a spoken word moment, with the phrase “grab them by the Trump files” finishing the song.
