An increase in participating clubs from 2021
Understandably, the 2021 Second Chance Contest had a decrease of National Finals, due to the pandemic. However, with a clean slate, we have 27 countries select their representative via a National Final, which is a joint record with 2018.
In 2021, Melodifestivalkluben had the honor of hosting the competition after winning the 2020 competition with Anna Bergendahl and “Kingdom Come”. Eurovision 2019 televoting winners KEiiNO won the competition with their MGP 2021 entry “Monument”.
