๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Birmingham to bid for the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest

Before it was official that the United Kingdom will be hosting the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, a few cities expressed their interest in hosting next year’s contest. One of those cities is Birmingham, and the city has now revealed it will indeed be bidding to be the host city of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.

Resorts World Arena has cleared its schedule for May 2023

Before the reveal, NEC Group (which owns the Resorts World Arena), has confirmed that the Arena’s diary has been cleared for May 2023. Birmingham does have another arena, the Utilita Arena Birmingham (which hosted Eurovision 1998). However, it’s been revealed that the Resorts World Arena has been chosen for the bid.

The venue has hosted numerous artists for concerts, as well as the BBC Music Awards in 2015. Recently, the Arena held the “Concert for Ukraine” charity concert, where Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala performed her winning entry “1944” for the crowd.
