Serbia’s national broadcaster, RTS, has confirmed that Serbia will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, set to be held in the United Kingdom.

Plan for Eurovision 2023 yet to be revealed

Speaking to ESCToday, RTS confirmed that the nation would take part in the upcoming edition of the Contest. However, no specific method of selection has been formally announced. In previous years, Serbia has selected its representative by means of a national selection.

Last year, Serbia announced a new selection format – entitled Pesma za Evroviziju 2022, diverging from the traditional selection show – Beovizija. Twenty-four artists took part in the selection, with Konstrakta making it out on top after winning both the jury and the televote.

Serbia’s Eurovision journey

In 2007, Serbia made its debut as an independent country (they previously participated through Yugoslavia & Serbia & Montenegro), where they were represented by Marija ล erifoviฤ‡ with โ€œMolitva, which managed to win the competition. Since their debut, Serbia has participated 14 times (11 of which, where they qualified for the Grand Final).

Their recent participation saw them being represented by Konstrakta, with the song โ€œIn Corpore Sanoโ€. At this yearโ€™s competition, Serbia managed to qualify for the Grand Final, where they placed 5th after receiving 312 points from the jury and televoters.
