๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Chanel Dilecta: “My performance will be very colourful and very fun!”

Ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022, Rosie sent some questions over to Chanel Dilecta – who will represent Italy at this year’s Contest.

In the interview, Chanel talks about her Junior Eurovision journey. She tells us about how she was selected to take part in the contest, what she loves about her song and music video, how it felt to experience Eurovision in her home country and what skills she’d like to learn!

The road to Junior Eurovision for Chanel

Chanel hails from Thiene in Northern Italy, and has been performing since she was 4 years old! She has studied singing, ballet, piano, modern dance and stage art, and has already seen success in national and international competitions, including TMF (Tour Music Fest) 2021, theย Italian Performer Cup (2021)ย andย The Coach Contest. She is part of duo Le Dogi of Voice with her friend Arianna Bertoldo. Together, they release song covers together on YouTube.

Italy’s Junior Eurovision journey

Italy made its Junior Eurovision debut in 2014 with Vincenzo Cantiello and the song โ€œTu primo grande amoreโ€. The performance scored 159 points on its way to a victory. Since winning, Italyโ€™s best result is a 3rd place in the 2016 contest. Italy has so far participated seven times in the contest.

Italyโ€™s most recent participation was in 2021. Elisabetta Lizzaโ€™s โ€œSpecchio (Mirror on the Wall)โ€ finished 10th with 107 points from the jury and online voters.
