Today the first rehearsals for Eurovision 2023 continue in Liverpool. Countries rehearsing on Day 2 include Israel, Azerbaijan, Czechia, The Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, Armenia, Romania, Belgium, and Cyprus. The second to rehearse today is Azerbaijan’s TuralTuranX.
TuralTuranX’s first rehearsal
The second to take to the Eurovision 2023 stage at Liverpool Arena in Liverpool today was TuralTuranX. TuralTuranX will be competing in this year’s competition with their entry “Tell Me More” following their internal selection by Azerbaijan’s public service broadcaster İTV.
Following TuralTuranX’s first rehearsal a clip of what went on was posted on the official TikTok account of the Eurovision Song Contest. The clip showed Tural and Turan before and after they took to the Eurovision stage for the first time, as well as giving us some insight into how well their first rehearsal went.
What did we learn about TuralTuranX’s staging?
This is described as quite a low-key performance by the Eurovision live-blog. TuralTuranX start the performance on a heart-shaped podium. The boys are wearing matching purple and green suits on stage. It has been confirmed by the blog they are not wearing the hats from the music video. The live-blog says this performance brings a sense of joy to the stage.

Azerbaijan’s Eurovision Journey
Azerbaijan is a powerhouse in Eurovision, first debuting in 2008 with the song “Day After Day” by Elnur & Samir, finishing 8th. The country has since gone on to achieve five top-5 performances, including one win in 2011. Azerbaijan has a near perfect qualification record, only failing to make the final in 2018, and is known for its impressive on-stage performances. In 2022, they were represented by Nadir Rustamli, who received 106 points and finished 16th with his song “Fade to Black”.
