After confirming their participation for Junior Eurovision 2023, RAI has revealed further information about their participation for this year’s competition, which will take place in Nice.

Representative to be revealed to September, and move to Rai 2

The broadcaster has recently revealed its schedule, where it was revealed that the channel will be moved to Rai 2, after its stint on Rai 1, where it saw a viewership of 1.5 million viewers, and that Italy’s representative for Nice will be revealed in September.

In addition to this, it was also revealed that Mario Acampa, who was one of the presenter of the press conferences at Eurovision 2022, will once agian be the commentator for Italy’s participation at Junior Eurovision.

About Junior Eurovision 2023

Junior Eurovision 2023 landed in ‘Nice’ after France won the competition for a second time in Yerevan, where its 2022 representative Lissandro won the competition with “Oh Maman”. This year’s competition will take place on the 26th of November at 16:00CET in Nice, at the Palais Nikaรฏa in Nice, which can accomodate up to 9,000 spectators.

Italy’s Junior Eurovision Journey

Italy made its Junior Eurovision debut in 2014 with Vincenzo Cantiello and the song โ€œTu primo grande amoreโ€. The performance scored 159 points on its way to a victory. Since winning, Italy’s best result is a 3rd place in the 2016 contest. Italy has so far participated seven times in the contest.

Italy’s most recent participation was in 2022. Chanel Dilecta’s “BLA, BLA, BLA” finished 11th with 95 points from the jury and online voters.
