Other Highlights
There is way too much music released every month to cover in-depth, but here are some of the best and biggest new tracks from other Eurovision artists:
Dami Im – “In Between” (EP)
Australia’s best ever result was courtesy of Dami Im and her stunning voice, and she now has released her latest EP. “In Between” consists of seven tracks, with a healthy mix of previously released singles (including the title track featuring Australia Decides 2022 contestant Jude York) and new tracks. EP opener “Role Model” got the lyric video treatment to celebrate the release.
Ann Sophie – “Moves”
Ann Sophie has made quite the comeback since Eurovision 2015, something which started with her making it to the Semi-Final of The Voice of Germany in 2021, where she lost to eventual winner Sebastian Krenz. Since then, she has starred in musicals, and now also is finally releasing some music of her own again! Her new single, “Moves” is a summer bop that Ann Sophie writes is about “fighting for your truth, moving back to your roots and about being the person you are and always were”.
Levina – “Who’s Laughing Now”
Speaking of German artists, Levina also has put out some new music! Her latest track is a moody alternative pop track with some poprock moments in the choruses. On Instagram, Levina said about the track that she “wrote this song fed up with society and people telling us what we should or shouldn’t be doing in life,” adding that the song is a call to “reinvent ourselves and show the world how things can be done differently”.
ela. – “Nochmal so tun”
All good things come in three, so here is another German Eurovision artist for you. ela., who competed as part of Elaiza, has been steadily releasing new music. Her latest track is the fittingly retro-inspired “Nochmal so tun” (Pretend again), in which she sings about wanting to return to the carefree times of youth. The track will be part of her second album, releasing this August.
Cornelia Jakobs – “Need You Now”
Cornelia is back with another track that combines a 00s vibe with the present-day music landscape. The Swedish singer says on Instagram that she:
wrote this song on a walk in the woods when I was utterly fed up with being so fucking tired all the time. In desperate need of something to help me not drain myself by simply existing. aka adhd meds
Cornelia Jakobs
The song does have a music video, which can be seen on the Instagram post linked under the quote, but it does not seem to be on YouTube (yet, at least).
