Andorra will not return to Eurovision in 2025, RTVA have confirmed.
No Return for Andorra
According to Spanish site Eurofestivales, RTVA confirmed that the microstate will not be making a return to the contest next year, having last participated in 2009. They also ruled out a debut in Junior Eurovision, which is being hosted in Madrid on November 16th.
Campaign for Andorra’s Return
Andorra’s continued non participation hasn’t come without efforts to change that, Susanne Georgi, who was the last person to represent the principality, is campaigning for the country’s return to the contest.
Andorra’s Eurovision Journey
The micronation of Andorra made their debut in 2004 with the song “Jugarem a estimar-nos” by Marta Roure. They have participated on six occasions, until 2009. They have not been present in the competition since. Andorra’s best result was in 2007 when the nation sent Anonymous to the competition with the song “Salvem el món”. Their last Eurovision entry was “La teva decisió (Get a Life)” by Susanne Georgi in 2009.
