🇸🇪 Six more artists rumored to participate at Melodifestivalen 2025

Whilst Swedish broadcaster SVT finalizes the list of artists participating in their Eurovision 2025 selection, Melodifestivalen, the rumors regarding who will be participating in the 65th edition of the competition continue to be reported. This time, Frans, Kaliffa, Arvingarna, Andreas Lundstedt, Dolly Style, and Malou Prytz are the latest artists to be rumoured taking part.

More Former Mello winners on the rumoured line-up

Aftonbladet has reported 10 artists that could be in the line-up for next year’s competition, which includes the names of the artists we have reported over the past few weeks.

First up on the list is Frans, who won Mello in 2016 and represented Sweden on home turf in Stockholm with “If I Were Sorry.” The song placed 5th with 216 points from the Jury and the Public Vote. Aftonbladet reports that Frans has been in the studio during spring and summer.

Another artist in the line-up is a newcomer in the form of Kaliffa, and is a member of the band Hoffmaestro. Aftonbladet mentions that MEDINA (who participated in 2022 & 2024) has done well in the competition and Kaliffa is looking to participate in the competition with a similar style of entry.

Another act that is rumored to be on the Mello 2025 line-up is Arvingarna, who won the competition in 1993 and represented Sweden with Eloise. Arvingarna has participated six times with their recent participation in 2021 with “Tänker Inte Alls Gå Hem”. Aftonbladet reports that they are ready for next year’s contest.

The next artist on the rumour list is Andreas Lundstedt who is a member of pop-dance group Alcazar. If included in the lineup, this will be Andreas’ tenth participation in the competition (five times with Alcazar, and four times as a solo artist). Andreas was part of the Digiloo Tour in the summer, and was recently seen in the TV show “Så Mycket Bättre”.

The next artist rumored in this round-up is the girl group “Dolly Style” who has participated in Mello three times, with their latest participation in the competition in 2019 with “Habibi”. A lot has changed since then, as Dolly Style went from having three members to four. Aftonbladet reports that their potential entry for Mello has a ‘strong hook’, describing it as ‘country but Dolly-Style’.

Finally, finishing off this round-up is another returnee in the form of Malou Prytz, who has participated in the competition three times. The last time we saw Malou on Mello was in 2022 with “Bananas”. Aftonbladet reports that Malou’s potential entry is a ‘strong pop song’, very ‘Malou’, more adult, and more weighty than her previous entries.

Who is currently rumored to participate in Melodifestivalen 2025?

As reported by Swedish media for the past few weeks, the artists that could potentially be competing at next year’s competition are as follows:

Sweden’s Eurovision Journey

In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).

In 2024, Marcus and Martinus represented Sweden on home soil. As the host entry, their song “Unforgettable” did not need to compete in the semi-finals. At the close of voting in the grand final, they had received 174 points. 125 points were received by the juries, while the twins received 49 points by televoters.
