Serbia’s public broadcaster, RTS, has confirmed it received 222 submissions for Pesma za Evrovizija 2025. The competing acts will now be whittled down and revealed next month.
Quality songs and well-known names for Pesma za Evrovizija 2025
In an interview on morning show Jedan Dobar Dan, festival director Olivera Kovačević and music editor Uroš Marković gave more details on the selection. A submissions window closed on November 10th confirmed it received a total of 222 submissions.
Revealing more about the selection process, Olivera and Uroš said that 28 acts will be selected to compete in the televised semi-finals. The submissions feature a number of well-known acts, and a final decision on who will take part will be made in December.
Speaking about the quality of songs submitted, Olivera said:
The careers of many now-famous performers began at PZE, and the fact that the competition is increasingly watched shows that we have found the route we need to follow and that every year we make a step forward both visually and in terms of content.
It’s best when you offer a variety of genres, from ethnic, to rock and pop, to metal. It’s the same at the Eurovision Song Contest, every year they try to find a recipe. One year ‘Maneskin’ wins, and the next everyone plays something similar. This year, Nemo won, probably the next few will try something in that style.

RTS went on to confirm that the names of the acts competing in Pesma za Evrovizija 2025 will be released in mid-December. The competing songs in the selection will be revealed at a later date.
Serbia’s Eurovision journey

There, they were represented by Marija Šerifović with “Molitva”, which managed to win the competition. Since their debut, Serbia has participated 16 times (13 of which, where they qualified for the Grand Final).
Teya Dora represented Serbia at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö with her song “Ramonda”. At this year’s competition, Serbia managed to qualify for the Grand Final, where they placed 17th. At the close of voting, she received 54 points – 22 coming from the jury and 32 from the televote.
