We at That Eurovision Site will be ranking national finals throughout this coming season. The next national final that the team have taken a closer look at is LSC 2025, which will take place on the 25th of January. LSC 2025 will select the Eurovision representative for Luxembourg in Basel.
Who is taking part in the Luxembourg Song Contest 2025?
There are seven artists taking part in LSC 2025. The seven artists taking part are as follows:

We ranked the songs taking part in LSC, using a 1-7 ranking. 1 being our favourite, 7 being our least favourite song. We then calculated the average of all our rankings. Right below, you can see our top three for this selection.

What did some of our team members have to say about their favourite songs from the Luxembourg Song Contest 2025?
Molly (Rafa Ela): The song was a lot of fun and a strong one. I loved how trendy it was along with having some amazing vocals. I think she could do very well if paired with very good staging.
Daniel (Laura Thorn): I think this is easily Luxembourg’s best bet if they want to make it to the final in Basel. I like the callback to Luxembourg’s 1965 Winning entry, and I think the song itself is set to be a great showcase of Laura’s artistic and vocal range. I also think there’s really good potential for a strong stage show at Rockhal to really take the song to another level
Kittens (Luzac): I do love a song that really takes you somewhere, and this song really does have the contrast from quiet to loud to even LOUDER. It’s hard to not see influences of ‘The Code’ in this, but the deep bassline and melodic elements really do work well together. The song is a risk, but in the best kind of way – and put together right on stage it could go from a risk to a serious threat to the others in the competition.
What is the Luxembourg Song Contest?
The Luxembourg Song Contest debuted in 2024 with the country’s return to Eurovision. In 2024, the show featured eight artists and took place on one night. To determine the winner, there were two rounds of voting. The first round used a 50/50 combination of a jury and televote to determine the three superfinalists. The second round of voting followed the same format, though just containing the three super finalists.
Luxembourg’s Eurovision Journey
Luxembourg first made its debut in the first edition of the Contest in 1956, with their first entries being “Ne crois pas” and “Les Amants de minuit”, both performed by Michèle Arnaud. Since the first Contest, Luxembourg has competed a total of 38 times. Their best result was finishing in 1st place five times – in 1961, 1965, 1972, 1973 and 1983 respectively.
Luxembourg returned to the contest for the first time in 31 years in 2024. Tali represented Luxembourg in Malmö, with the song “Fighter” bringing Luxembourg their first semifinal qualification–since they last participated before the semifinal system even existed! In the Grand Final, “Fighter” received 103 points: 83 from the national juries, and 20 from the televoters.
