Cyprus is gearing up for the official release of its Eurovision Song Contest 2026 entry, with the full version of “Jalla” set to be unveiled this Sunday, February 8.
What “Jalla” Means and Where It Comes From
Titled “Jalla”, a word from the Cypriot dialect meaning “more”, the track blends Antigoni’s contemporary pop style with nods to her cultural roots. The music video was shot across scenic locations in Cyprus and features personal touches, including appearances by her grandparents, giving fans an early flavour of the song’s visual identity.
Antigoni herself confirmed the release plans on social media, expressing excitement about sharing the song and visual story with fans ahead of its radio and streaming debut.
The song will be revealed during a special broadcast on RIK 1’s main evening news programme at 19:00 CET, followed by release on major digital platforms including YouTube and Spotify.
Live Debut at Sing For Greece
Following its official premiere on February 8, “Jalla” will receive its first live performance on 13 February during the Sing for Greece 2026 second semi-final show, an opportunity for Antigoni to showcase the Eurovision entry to a live audience.
With the unveiling date set, Cypriot fans and international Eurovision followers alike are now counting down to hear the full song that will represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2026 in Vienna.
Cyprus’ Eurovision journey
The Mediterranean nation made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981, where the Island participated with the song “Monika” and placed 6th. Since then, Cyprus has participated 40 times (33 of which were in the Grand Final).
For 2025, CyBC internally selected Theo Evan to represent them in Basel with the song “Shh”. Competing in the first semi-final, Cyprus failed to qualify for the final, finishing in 11th place with 44 points. This was the first time since 2022 that Cyprus had not been in a Eurovision final.
