Ahead of her participation in Melodifestivalen 2026, Sweden’s selection for Eurovision 2026, Tim had the opportunity to speak with Cimberly, who is making her debut in this year’s competition with her entry “Eternity”

During their interview, Tim and Cimberly talked about her experience at the rehearsals, how “Eternity” came about, and the contrasts between her Mello experience and winning Idol.
Who is Cimberly?
Cimberly Wanyonyi (professionally known as Cimberly), who was born and raised in Skellefteรฅ rose to fame after winning Idol in 2023, which saw her release her debut single โWonโt Be Sorry.โ Since then, she has released two further singles, “bye bye bye” and “Honor”
Following her win on Idol, she toured nationwide with Diggiloo, performed numerous live shows, made television appearances, and continued creating new music. With Finnish and Kenyan roots, her musical journey has gained attention in both countries, with Cimberly citing artists such as Seinabo Sey, Olivia Dean, and Joy Crookes, as she creates a path to an international career.
Cimberly will be making her debut in Melodifestivalen this year with her entry “Eternity”, which was co-written by Cimberly alongside David Lindgren Zacharias, Dino Medanhodzic, and Melanie Wehbe.
Sweden’s Eurovision journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song โLilla stjรคrnaโ which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2025, Sweden were represented by Finnish group KAJ, singing “Bara bada bastu”. At the close of voting in the grand final, they had received 321 points, finishing in 4th place. 126 points were received by the juries, while the trio received 195 points by televoters.
