About Eurovision Young Musicians

Eurovision Young Musicians is part of a number of international music and arts events organized by the European Broadcasting Union. First held in 1982, the contest takes place every other year. 2026 will mark the 22nd edition.

This year, the contest travels to Yerevan, Armenia on the 6th of June 2026, with Armenian broadcaster AMPTV taking over hosting duties. This comes as AMPTV returned to the competition after skipping four editions (2014, 2016, 2018, 2022) of the competition. This will not be the first ‘Eurovision’ event that Public Television Company of Armenia (AMPTV) has hosted. The broadcaster has hosted Junior Eurovision in two occassions (2011 & 2012).

The 2024 contest was held in Bodø, in northern Norway, and was won by violinist Leonhard Baumgartner, a violinist from Austria. Contestants can be from 12 to 21 years of age; at the time of his win, Baumgartner was 11.
