Today, nine of the participating countries of the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest are having their second rehearsal. These are Portugal, Ireland, Malta, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Georgia, Spain, and Poland.
In today’s rehearsal, the attending Press had the opportunity to watch the full rehearsals from these countries. Before we find out what happens in Ireland’s rehearsal, let’s see how their first rehearsal went.
What happens during Maiú’s performance?
We start off with Maiú in the middle of the stage, with a close-up shot. This then zooms out and pans out to see the whole stage, where we see buildings on the LED background. Whilst Maiú stays in the middle of the stage, he is showing his energetic self, to match the tone of the song.

Ireland’s Junior Eurovision Journey
Ireland first participated in Junior Eurovision in 2015 with Aimee Banks’ “Réalta na Mara” which finished in 12th place with 36 points. After that, Ireland earned its best JESC result, finishing in 10th place in 2016 with Zena Donnelly’s “Bríce Ar Bhríce”.
Ireland finished in 15th place in 2017 and 2018. They moved up to 12th place again in 2019 with Anna Kearney’s “Banshee”.
