With less than 24 hours to go until the reveal, the rumours on who will be among the final 30 competing at Melodifestivalen 2024 continue to be reported on by local media. This time, Lia Larsson, Klaudy, Annika Wickihalder, Melina Borglowe and Natalie Carrion are the latest names to be attached for next year’s competition.
Lia Larsson
Up first in this round-up is rising Tik-Tok star Lia Larsson whose music has been streamed millions of times, including being featured in the EPA remix of Melodifestivalen 2023 participants Signe & Hjördis’ entry “Edelweiss”. Looking through Lia’s social media accounts, it has been revealed that Lia will release a new single “Ut På Tur” tomorrow.
Klaudy
First of the artists who competed in TV shows is William Schenberg or professionally known as Klaudy is from Gothenburg, and has participated in the Swedish version of ‘Songland’ and collaborated with Cherie on a track. Klaudy has already released a few singles since 2021.
Annika Wickihalder
The second artist who has competed in TV shows is Annika Wickihalder, who competed with fellow rumoured Melodifestivalen 2024 artists Jacqline Moss in Idol Sweden in 2021. Since taking part in Idol, Annika released an EP in the summer of 2023 “Hollow”, which includes the single “Speed of Sound”
Melina Borglowe
The penultimate artist in this round-up is Melina Borglower, who is currently signed to Record Company TEN, the same label as Benjamin Ingrosso, Felix Sandman and Bishara, and is now vying to follow their footsteps. Melina has been releasing music since 2014 and have just released their EP “Puss Kram Hej” last month.
Natalie Carrion
The final artist for the round-up this season is Natalie Carrion, who has Caribbean and Sami roots. According to Aftonbladet, Natalie has been close to joining the competition several times and have comepeted in the 2022 edition of Sami Grand Prix.

The dates of next year’s competition has been revealed, and are as follows:
- Heat 1 – February 3 – Malmö – Malmö Arena
- Heat 2 – February 10 – Gothenburg – Scandinavium
- Heat 3 – February 17 – Växjö – Vida Arena
- Heat 4 – February 24 – Eskilstuna – Stiga Sports Arena
- Heat 5 – March 2 – Karlstad – Löfbergs Arena
- Final – March 9 – Stockholm – Friends Arena
Tickets for Melodifestivalen 2024 are now on sale, with the full official artist announcement due to take place on 1st December 2023.
Sweden’s Eurovision Journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2023, Loreen returned to represent Sweden, who won the 2012 edition of the competition. She competed with the song “Tattoo”, which managed to qualify for the Grand Final, and placed 1st with 583 points. Loreen won the jury vote, accruing 340 points from the jury, earning an additional 243 points from the televote. This now means Sweden matches Ireland for the record of most wins in Eurovision history.
